Heavy Machinery Mechanic – South Chicago, IL

Staff Source is seeking Heavy Machinery Mechanic candidates for an outdoor scrap yard client in South Chicago, IL. This is a full time, first shift position from 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday through Friday. The pay rate is $18-$22 hourly based on experience.

 

This is intended to be a temporary to permanent opportunity upon successful completion of the probationary period for all employees that meet or exceed performance or attendance expectations. Job Description:

• Perform basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic maintenance tasks
• Conduct equipment inspections, check-ups, and diagnostics
• Recondition, repair, assemble, and service heavy equipment including hydraulic cranes, forklifts, hydraulic baler, semi- tractors
• Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service and replace electronic devices and systems
• Install and repair cylinders, hydraulic pumps and radiation systems
• Perform stick welding
• Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements
• Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2 -5 years of Heavy Machinery experience required
• Must be familiar with hydraulic cranes, forklifts, hydraulic baler, semi- tractors
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment with all weather conditions
• Capability to stand, bend and twist for long periods of time
• Detail orientated, ability to work with limited supervisor and safety conscious are key skills to have in order to be successful in this position
• Bilingual preferred
