Staff Source is seeking a Human Resources Intern to assist with all aspects of Staffing and Human Resources. This position offers the opportunity to grow for the right candidate to a Recruiter Assistant and potentially Recruiter. The Human Resource intern position is starting at $14hr.
Duties:
Recruiting
- Actively participate in the entire recruiting process
- Review resumes, conduct phone screenings and interview qualified candidates
- Develop and maintain relationships with both clients and candidates
- Attend job fairs and participate in recruiting events
- Assist with providing orientation and training to new hires
- Complete all new hire paperwork with employees
- Create job orders
- Assist recruiters with filling job orders
- Issue counseling statements to employees that violate company policy
- Participate in on-call, after hours rotation
Marketing
- Create flyers and job postings for open positions to post on job boards and local community boards and job fairs
- Actively participate in creating content for social media including postings with open positions and other industry related content
- Sales and marketing support for new clients including assisting with contracts and initial contact
- Network with a variety of traditional and non-traditional recruiting sources (Job boards, social media, job fairs, employee referrals etc).
Payroll
- Collect and review employee hours weekly
- Review any payroll discrepancies
- Issue write-up’s for attendance violations
- Collect and manage leave requests (FMLA, vacation requests, etc)
Administrative
- General administrative duties (filing, faxing, answering phones etc)
- Monitor the proper completion of paperwork
- Assist in establishing new procedures
- Develop spreadsheets and reports as needed
- Maintain employee files
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred
- Communicate with candidates and clients in a professional manner
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Candidates with food service or retail are highly encouraged to apply
- Team lead experience is a plus
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment to ensure all aspects of the staffing process are completed daily.
- Strategic planning, ability to anticipate changing business conditions and take the appropriate action
- High level of initiative and effective time management skills
- Must possess outstanding time management and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills required
- Must have own reliable transportation as this position requires some travel to client sites for periodic visits as well as marketing related travel to post flyers and attend job fairs
- Ideal candidates will be currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Management or similar
